I never experienced this level of healthcare in my life!” Dr. Herbst is a life long learner and her team benefits from continual enhancements that include higher and higher standards in clinical services. Dr. Herbst oversees clinical performance including compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements. Dr. Herbst is a passionate advocate for children with Down Syndrome and a pioneer and world expert on advanced DNA testing and breakthrough insights that benefit their life.
“More than 20 years ago, my life had led me to the point where I was laying on the floor, sick and exhausted. Out of desperation I saved my own life and promised to help others. But first I had to get down to the root of my problems. This practice called functional medicine is the principle foundation for SALT Health, and it is the reason I now stand strong and healthy. My goal is to change health care as it stands. Restoring optimal function to a body will restore hope in health care. I am a physician, a doctor who believes compassion can be mixed with knowledge. Patients need more than a pill to fix their ailments. They deserve providers who will look for the reason they are ill and help them stop it and develop a plan for their optimal health and wellness.”

“The vision for SALT Health was born out of personal experience—mine, Dr. Herbst’s, and my wife Jessica’s. We realized you can upgrade nearly every part of your life—cars, hotels, even your coffee order—but not your healthcare experience.
For people who want to be proactive and preventive with their health, the traditional system doesn’t offer many options. We set out to change that.
Our goal was to create something different: access, partnership, and a level of care people aren’t used to seeing in healthcare. By integrating medical care with fitness, nutrition, and spa services, we’ve built a model that doesn’t just treat symptoms—it transforms lives. This isn’t just a clinic. It’s a new kind of healthcare experience—one designed to be personal, powerful, and truly life-changing.”

“What sets SALT Health apart from traditional healthcare is the notion of partnership, where the patient shares equal relationship status with the team members. We’re very picky about who comes onto our team,” Jessica pointed out. “They need to have the patient as the first focus, then everything else falls in place. We’ve been able to recruit top talent purely because they’re so excited about being free to practice as they think is the best fit under the direction of our chief medical officer, Dr. Herbst. That includes the freedom allowing them to spend time with the patient, to really dive in and gather the best health solutions possible.”
