Foundations of Fitness Training Class
Join our ACE certified personal trainer, Madeline Neyland and discover a revolutionary fitness approach designed to alleviate aches and pains by focusing on specific areas of your body. This Member perk is free and may be perfect if you are blaming your age or fitness condition on your seemingly increasing lack of ability to do the things you want. Madeline is trained as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and will dive into the complex dynamics of muscle function, unveiling both the synchronized movements for efficiency and why they struggle to coordinate when they should. Madeline will explore the Foundations of Fitness so you have the optimal strategies to mitigate these issues.
This is not a fitness workout, but a training class and will be held in our Group Fitness Classroom. Madeline will teach and demonstrate the techniques with some minor hands-on activity so you feel confident applying the instruction. Although Madeline has completed the April 15th training there are openings in her three remaining classes:
— COMPLETED: April 15th, Knees, Ankles & Feet: learn the importance of your stance on arch support and gain insights on overly cushioned shoes.
— April 22nd, Back & Core: discover the often overlooked core muscles and their role in supporting and safeguarding your back.
— April 29th, Back & Hips: learn the vital role of the posterior chain, a complex network of muscles including your back, glutes and hamstrings that collaborate for your strength and stability.
— May 6th, Head & Shoulders: gain insights on the deviations that lead to discomfort such as jaw and neck pain, tightness in the chest muscles and compromised breathing. You will walk away from the class more aware of the proper positioning of your shoulder blades and head, and maybe even standing a little bit taller, quite literally!
No RSVP is needed, so just show up for the three remaining classes, each held on Monday nights, from 5:30 – 6:15 p.m. This is an educational series with instruction and only light movement, so come as you are! We look forward to seeing you!
